At first upon hearing about the Harry Potter phenom, I decided not to bother reading it seeing as I figured it was just one of those things that really has no substance and only applies to everyone because of it... but eventually my friend wore me down and I had a peek... little to say i understand why the phenomenon exist... Rowling is a fabulous writer that truly knows how to write good fiction... I personally dont see where the whole "this is going to turn ur children into satanists" view come from... the books have moral themes (friendship, love, good vs. evil)... and just because they are set in fantasy doesnt mean that ur children are going to start practising magic themselves... i think these concerned "christians" are looking for something to scapegoat on and perhaps they should remember that CS Lewis and JRR Tolkein both were confirmed christians and they wrote books in which the good guys did do magic!
