Topic 71 of 100: Roberta Flack

Just listening to her 1971 LP Quiet Fire (Atlantic Recordings) again. Great music that speaks to one's mortal soul. Wonder what she's doing now...

For 20 years she was "doing" Jesse Jackson. But seriously folks, I saw her about five years ago in a cabaret show in Honolulu. It was perfection. The last recording I remember was her and Maxi Priest (talk about the "Odd Couple") doing a duet remake of Jefferson Starship's "Set the Night to Music."

Thanks, John! And that means she didn't record for twenty years, too?

I'm reasonably sure she was recording. It's just I wasn't anywhere that was playing (or even receiving) those recordings. The recording with Maxi Priest was either 1989 or 90, in that time frame.

Hi Sam! Long time no 'see'! Glad someone is keeping the music conference alive since Mr. Schuth's mysterious disappearance some time ago!
