Topic 25 of 100: spring.net is here now

Thu, Mar 12, 1998 (15:30) | Paul Terry Walhus (terry)
We may become http://tvnight.org instead of spring.com any day now.
If our domain name deal consummates. So now is a good time to start
getting in the habit of typing spring.net instead of spring.com. If you
get email here, it will change too.

I can't guarantee all this will happen. But in case it does, you can
start using http://tvnight.org now. And be sure to let folks know
that your email has changed.

If you guess the name correctly of the eventual buyer of the name
spring.com I will send you $100 cash and a round trip plane ticket to
Austin, Texas. Make as many guesses as you like. Only the first correct
guess wins, no multiple winners.

http://www.spring.com tells all.

It's some nice English folks who run a human resource service.

terry: i went surfing on the welcome page for the spring and found that some of the links point to spring.com. i was wondering if anyone was working on that or if those links are no longer part of the spring.

I need to do a global search and replace on that!

Thanks, I was noticing that the other day also.

I hope we can evolve into "team spring" with a great crew of web artists
and content builders, William, Ray (ratthing), and others are pitching in.
We can also use more talented volunteers to help with our site.

Well, I'd like to have some face to face meetings, at my place with an Austin group. I'd like to attract
more Austin webbed type folks to our project. I'd like to use the projects conference more to
co-ordinate projects and store documentation. There may be a huge project coming up which I'll talk
about there. I'll work on eliciting more specific directions. Your ideas on getting tighter and more
organized as a group.

By the way, I was impressed at what the austen.com folks have done with their site, they have chat and
their own homebrewed conferencing there now. But none of the other major austen.com websites is providing
links to their site yet! Maybe it's to early in the game to promote it, but this site is doing well!
It's hard to pull stats because the log file is so big and slow loading.

I did a little work on bioregion.com this weekend. It's mostly just a bunch of links so far with one
link to a discussion in the seldom visited environment conference.

I've got permission for "meets" at LI, although I'm working every
night at the moment...some face to faces would be good...and of
course we're not firing the non-Austin folks, it's just that those
of us in Austin should communicate more!

If I don't work a night next week, I'll call and let you know,
Terry...

There you go! But, my life is being controlled by trolls and I must get some Troll-RAID and eradicate the little devils before they cost me more than they ever anticipated. I am worthy of the challenge, and if they think I was wimpish last time, they do not know that I have something much more important to fight for this time! Take a lickin' but no more tickin'!
