Topic 91 of 100: ryze.com

You'll get a ryze out of this one. This is one great networking site.

It's about business.

From the 'about' page:

"On Ryze, each member has a profile page where they list a bit of info on
themselves, such as their interests and previous companies, and also put
in links to their friends. Members can contact other members by sending a
private message (e-mail addresses are not publicly-listed on a member's
page), or by leaving a note in a guestbook area on each page.

"Members can also see lists of events that various groups are organizing,
and make plans to meet people through real-life encounters.

"Why is it called Ryze? Because it's about people helping each other 'rise
up'! It's pronounced the same as 'rise'."

http://www.ryze.org is the address.

Some folks I know are already there (Will Kreth, Jon Lebkowsky, Arabella
Clausen, there is a home city search in something called pivot according
to Leb' and I intend to make that the next thing I try.

They have tribes.

One thing we lack on the Spring is a place for peoples bios and I'm
thinking about setting up a conference called 'bio' where each topic would
be a persons bio with their picture and inforamtion about their interests.

Free for the most part, you have to pay for some of the advanced features.

Ryze is pretty good, but there is some controversy about their current privacy
policy, so you might want to read that before joining. The owner,
Adrian Scott, is supposedly revising it to make it more... community
friendly.

What kinds of contacts have you made on ryze, arabella? Has it resulted in any business opportunities, etc.?
